Become a sponsor – Make education possible
By becoming a sponsor, you take on a share of the educational costs for a young woman from Northern Ghana.
A sponsorship provides maximum planning security – for both us and our scholarship recipients – and ensures continuous support throughout the entire duration of their training.
The duration of training programs varies between two and four years, depending on the chosen field.
Monthly costs range from €60 to €100 and cover application and enrollment fees, tuition, learning materials, accommodation, meals, and a small allowance for daily needs.
We welcome partial sponsorships starting at €30 per month just as much as full sponsorships.
Information about the sponsorship
Tuition fees are due once a year, in August or September, for the entire academic year. You may cover the full amount in a single payment or choose to transfer it monthly by standing order.
With your sponsorship, we can cover the following expenses:
- Application fees (approx. €25)
- Tuition fees
- Books, learning materials, and exam fees
- A starter kit with essential supplies and textbooks (approx. €250)
- Pocket money for food, hygiene items, transport, and clothing (approx. €60–100 per year)
This pocket money ensures that our scholarship recipients can complete their training successfully—independent of their family’s financial situation.
On request, you will receive updates from your scholarship recipient several times a year — or, if you prefer, you can get in direct contact with her.
Example: How expenses vary by training institution
Total costs depend on the type of training, the location of the college, and current exchange rates. To give you a better sense of the range, here are two real examples:
- Nursing and Midwifery College, Walewale: For the 2024/25 academic year, tuition fees amount to approx. 6,500 Cedi (around €400 per year). Additional registration fees and a small allowance are required.
- Community Nursing School, Bolgatanga: In the 2023/24 academic year, tuition fees amounted to approx. 2,600 Cedi (about €250 per year).
